The Arts at Winhills

The Arts at Winhills Primary Academy

The Arts represent an outlet of expression, that is usually influenced by culture and which in turn helps to change culture. As such, the arts are a physical manifestation of the internal creative impulse.

At Winhills we offer a vast range of Art activities from Nursery right through to Year 6.

On offer within the school timetable are: Dance, Drama, Gymnastics, a range of sports, Singing, Young Voices, Indian Drumming, Art, Design Technology and Poetry writing.

After school clubs include: Art KS1, Art KS2, Cross Country, Gymnastics, Tennis, Dance, Football, Netball and Tag Rugby.

Resident Artist

Years 1 and 2 have had two weeks working with our resident artist Jack Cornell. The children have studied the work of the artist Jasper Johns and have strived to recreate their own art work in his style.

Art Club

Each Thursday after school, a very keen and creative group of Year 5 and Year 6 children gather in Quartz classroom to explore their imaginations using a range of different media.

Here are some examples of their work.
