Outdoor Learning Y3.4

Thursday 5th September

Today was our 'Ground Force' day.  Children spent time outside working on our school grounds - we were able to incorporate some of our Diamond Learning Goals during the session.

It is our aim for children to spend time outside each week - this might be respecting our grounds and maintaining an aesthetic look or curriculum learning that builds on subjects taught in class.

During outdoor learning time, the children discussed what they need to make a birds nest. They had to collect sticks and objects that could be easily manipulated and bent into the shape of a nest.

This week, the children worked in groups to create a bridge that was strong enough to hold a glue stick. They were only allowed to use resources that they could find outside.

The children in Year 3/4 collected a variety of natural objects to create a piece of artwork. They worked collaboratively to create their finished piece.
