Healthy competition is a fantastic experience for all children. We enter and host both inter (competitions played out of school) and intra (competitions played in school) tournaments. Here you can find images and information about all of our competitions.
The children at Winhills thoroughly enjoy participating in competitions. Competitions and tournaments are
entered through various sources, we mostly enter our competitions from Hunts Schools Sports Partnership or host our own within the Diamond Learning Partnership Trust. We also regularly participate in competitions hosted by other schools within the St Neots and Huntingdon area. The children made an excellent start to the academic year, we hope to attend many more competitions as the year goes on.
Winhill's kicked off the school year to a dramatic entry of competitions! Every year group hosted an intra competition which was also reffed by our fabulous Schools Sports Organising Crew. Here is a breakdown of the competitions we entered. A huge congratulations this term to the year 5/6 Tag Rugby Team who came first in the small school's tournament - we are on our way to county!
Even though the cold weather put a hold to competitions and tournaments in January and February, March had enough to offer to last the whole term! We have had a fantastic Spring term at Winhills. We played extremely well during the football tournament and we entered our first every Gymnastics competition which showcased the children's fantastic sportsmanship and developing gymnastic skills. Winhills also attended an A team football tournament hosted by Alconbury school. We made it to county for the Tag Rugby tournament and played fantastically well. Overall we came second, well done Winhills!
