Spring Term

Week ending 13th March

It has been a great start to the second half of the Spring term. The children have been working incredibly hard. In Math, we have been learning about division and methods we can use for that. The children wrote brilliant simile poems titled 'The monster under my bed' based on a monster they created themselves. They were very inventive. This week has been assessment week and we are so proud of the progress that they have made.

Week ending 13th February

This week we ended the first half of the Spring term with lots of excitement. Monday was our History Off the Page day where we learnt all about the history of toys. The children got the opportunity to play with toys from the past and showed great understanding of how toys have changed over time. In the afternoon, they then got to make their own toys based on those from the past. Great fun was had by all and it was wonderful to see them enjoying themselves so much.

Week ending 23rd January

Rashford Class have had a great first couple of weeks back at school. They have been getting to grips with money in Maths lessons, including identifying coins and notes, making totals and calculating with money. In our English lessons, we have been using the story 'Vlad and the Great Fire of London' to inspire descriptive writing. We are loving our new History topic about how toys have changed over the last 100 years and we are looking forward to our history off the page day for this topic on Monday 9th January.
