Spring Term
Week ending 16th January
The children have returned from the holidays with a fantastic attitude and have been superstars with their learning. In English, the children have practised their sentence writing, ensuring their sentences are clear, have finger spaces, capital letters and full stops. They have also learnt when to use a question mark, checking for an interrogative word. We have shared the series of books from Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs, as well as 'Lost in the Toy Museum' to tie in with our new History topic about toys from the past. The children have loved investigating some of these toys so far and making comparisons between these and the toys they like to play with now. In maths, children have consolidated their shape learning and have begun to learn about place value up to 20, focusing on the tens and ones in the teens numbers. The children have been enjoying the colder weather during outside learning, making ice wands, going footprint hunting, making bird feeders and making rain gauges.
