Uniform Information

At Winhills we believe that school uniform is important as it gives the pupils a sense of identity and pride in their school. Below is a list of the approved uniform for Winhills Primary Academy.

Day to day uniform:

White or light blue polo shirts (plain)

Grey or black trousers/skirt/pinafore dress

Grey, black or white socks

Royal blue sweatshirt of cardigan (these can be plain or purchased with the school emblem using the link at the bottom of the page)

Black shoes

Warm weather alternative:

Grey or black shorts

Blue and white checked or striped dress

PE/Sports uniform:

White t-shirt (plain)

Black or navy blue shorts/tracksuit trousers/leggings

Trainers for outdoor P.E. (these must be different from their school shoes)

Plain black/grey/blue tracksuit top or jumper for outdoor P.E.

Hair

All long hair to be tied back, so that your child’s vision is not impaired. Girls and boys may wear gel, ponytails or hairbands that do not interfere with learning, but no extreme fashion hairstyles please.

Jewellery

Jewellery must not be worn for health and safety reasons. However, children with pierced ears may wear small studs. Children should be taught to remove ear studs and a small box/bag should be provided for their storage during PE lessons, as school staff cannot remove them.

Children are not allowed to wear earrings during P.E. lessons in line with DfE guidance. Parents wishing their child to wear jewellery connected with their faith or parents with children who wear medical alert necklaces etc. should discuss this with the Headteacher.
